What is lampante olive oil?
It is virgin olive oil whose acidity or sensory defects place it below the virgin categories fit for direct consumption. Under EU rules it must be refined before food use — refined olive oil starts as lampante.
Can lampante olive oil be consumed directly?
No. Lampante is an industrial raw material for refining and is not sold for direct consumption; once refined and blended with virgin olive oil it becomes the "olive oil" category found in food retail.
How is bulk lampante priced and specified?
On analysis. Each lot is offered with free acidity, peroxide value, K values and moisture; price follows the campaign market and the parameters. We ship in flexitanks (22–24 t), road tankers (25–27 t) or IBCs.
